Nettie Wakefield drew what the city throws away: sweet wrappers, cigarette packets, cans. Set on an ocean blue, the drawings became Ocean Trash, a summer capsule, cheerful with a reminder.

Why trash
The drawings date from 2014, her second series after the reverse portraits. Georg Weissacher took to the trash series for a summer collection; the ocean background kept it cheerful and made it an environmental reminder.
