GEORGWEISSACHER
Born in Salzburg. Taught the craft by nuns. Nine years at Vivienne Westwood. In 2015, a house of his own, named after a book.
He designs the clothes, makes a film for every collection and designs the rooms they live in. Every piece is made in Italy, in small runs, with knitters and weavers he works with himself.

The name
Peoples of All Nations is the title of J. A. Hammerton’s encyclopedia of the world’s peoples. In it he found the idea the house stands on: diversity is earned, by standing on your own feet with taste and an argument others respect.

Born in Mozart’s city. Before fashion, he worked on a grand outdoor opera production for the opening of the Red Bull Hangar.

At the fashion school in Hallein, run by nuns, the sisters taught him the craft: how to make a garment.

An internship in Vivienne Westwood’s studio became nine years, rising to Vice Head of Menswear. Andreas Kronthaler, whom he met in Vienna through the painter Martin Schnur, became his mentor.
2015London
The House
He founds Peoples of All Nations, named after J. A. Hammerton’s encyclopedia of the world’s peoples.
2016Paris
The film
Der Hund, his first collection, is shown in a palais by the Opéra during Paris Fashion Week, opened by his film after Dürrenmatt with Peter Lohmeyer. He is the only Austrian showing.
2017Milan
The Archive
Special guest of WHITE with the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana: The Phenomenon of Man, after Teilhard de Chardin.
2019The love stories
The Archive
Mozart, filmed in Salzburg, opens the love series. The End, Bacchus, Polizei, Sailor and Sinai follow: each collection an issue, each told in film.

The first collection made for every season: black and ivory, KNITWEAVE at its heart, never retired.
N° 01 · The clothes
KNITWEAVE
He goes to the knitters and weavers in Italy himself. The result is KNITWEAVE: a tailored jacket whose back is knitted to size in the same yarn as the woven front, so it moves with you and travels without a crease. At the waist the knit turns to a rib, a line no woven pattern can hold.

He writes the stories and makes a short film for every collection. Der Hund, after Dürrenmatt, starred Peter Lohmeyer; Mozart was filmed in Salzburg. He learnt to look from Italian cinema: Visconti, Pasolini, Fellini.

Interiors
He also designs interiors. The one you can walk into is the Maison at 37 Soho Square: the shop, the fittings, the parties. Fashion, art and interiors in one house, a Gesamtkunstwerk.
